Top Ten Awards
When I first began the Star Crawl journey a couple of months ago, I never imagined hitting the halfway mark so quickly. I have gotten a lot of questions along the way, but one I get most is “Which restaurant is your favorite?” Since this question is nearly impossible to answer, I have decided to pause at the fifty yard line and reminisce all of the decadent bites. I have made a list of top ten favorite dishes. This was no easy feat, but I present to you the first ever Star Crawl Awards. Drumroll please…
- Best Bread– Junoon’s naan
- Best Steak– KO (seriously this meat will give any famous steak restaurant a legit run for their money)
- Best Brunch- Casa Mono (so good in fact I’ve been back twice, the honeycomb chorizo is a MUST)
- Best Lobster– Gramercy Tavern (I went there on my birthday and they rolled out the red carpet)
- Best Pasta- Babbo (side note: the sommelier there is not only knowledgable, but incredibly entertaining)
- Best Fried Chicken– The Modern (on the lunch menu, also be sure to order their tarte flambé)
- Best Burger- Minetta Tavern (magical hangover cure at brunch)
- Best Fish– Le Bernardin (just…yes. PERFECTLY cooked)
- Best Sweet Treat- Delaware and Hudson funnel cake (not only delicious but also highly photogenic)
- Best Starter– Jean Georges egg caviar (This was my favorite dish so far on the Crawl AND I got to meet ole JG himself. One of the cooler days of my life.)
